Heart broken

I realized that it feels like your heart is being broken when someone in the family goes against your wishes. It just felt that way to me. I was told that it was just, you know, a phase. It made me wonder if I was like that when I was his age. But I wasn’t as far as I can recall. I was a good kid. I strayed once when my head was in the clouds but that’s it.

Sigh.

I easily forgive and forget. But when something triggers it and the memory surfaces, I can’t help but be broken-hearted about it again.
