Comments offHow do you tell an uncle that you cannot let him borrow from you again and again because it just isn’t done? How do you tell that person that you are not a bank and that you don’t have a well of cash lying around in wait for someone to borrow it? How do you say NO to a person who begs you to help his daughter with her schooling?
I simply said NO, I don’t have that amount of money stashed somewhere. I also have a family to think of, a brother who’s also in college that I am sending to school. I am also thinking of a grandmother who’s sick and in the brink of being hospitalized anytime. Prices of basic commodities are going up. Even if I have that amount of money, I don’t think I will lend it to him because what if it’s my turn to need cash? Where would I get it?
I just feel bad that I can’t lend my uncle the money his daughter needs. But family comes first. Immediate family, that is.
