You wouldn’t believe how hot it is in the Philippines right now. Unbelievably hot! It feels like you are living inside an oven. The electric fans are blowing hot wind. Even staying put or lying still, you will be drenched in sweat. It is that hot!
Believe me, when you attempt to walk without an umbrella or cap or anything to shield your head from the direct heat of the sun, you will surely suffer from heat stroke. There are too many victims already. Deodorants are surely selling off the shelves these days. Without it, you will smell like crap! Bottled waters are also in demand now. You need one when you are out of the house. You also need a lot of tissues, baby wipes, towelettes, hankies as well as anything to ward off heat temporarily. Fans or those carton-like ones given during the campaign period. I don’t go out of the house without these things.
At home, we have resorted to turning the lights off to lessen the heat. All our electric fans are overused already. I think I might need to replace it by June. I really thank the Lord we don’t have an aircon anymore. Otherwise, we would be tempted to use it every night when we hit the sack. It’s just too hot!
I am afraid to see the next electric bill. I hope it won’t be as high as the previous one.
