Memory of mom

When my mom was still alive, the last three years of her life were spent often going in and out of the hospital. I remember that I could already smell the hospital disinfectant even when I was not in the hospital anymore. It got stuck in my head. Whenever I actually smell one, even after my mom passed away already, I get teary-eyed. It’s a smell I associate with my mom and her sickness.

My mom has been gone for more than four years now. But it still feels like yesterday that she’s here with us…
