We have quite a few spinsters in the family. On both sides, paternal and maternal. I don’t see anything wrong with growing old alone and without a husband and kids. But I do acknowledge the fact that it can be lonely. A cat or any pet can keep them company but up to when? Pets also have a lifespan of their own.
Some well-meaning relatives and friends fear that I might end up a spinster. If I do, I don’t see anything worrisome about it. Maybe, marriage isn’t for me. Maybe, I am not meant to be a wife and mother. Or any of both.
