Borrowing my laptop

My brother is into software development right now. He and his friends are developing something so he wants to borrow my laptop. I am having a hard time lending it to him because it’s my backup unit should something happens to my desktop. But since their plan is something that I approve of, I am in the process of relenting, letting him borrow the laptop. In fact, I am thinking of giving it to him because I want a new unit for me.
