For some reason, memories from the ICU the night before my mom died flashed back in my mind. I saw her suffer from heart attack a few minutes after she was wheeled in from her suite. I can still hear her calling my name while medical attendants were transferring her to the ICU. She was suffering already, nearing comatose. Her vital organs were one by one starting to fail. Until the major organ, the heart, did just as she was wheeled in the intensive care. She was revived but was hooked up to machines. Her eyes were open but unseeing, glassy. Her kept twitching due to the ventilator. She was already brain dead.

We told the doctors not to revive her anymore should the inevitable happen. And it did, the next morning at 9. It was one of, if not the most tragic moment of our lives.
