Stressed? Eat!

Do you deal with stress by having a good cry or by eating?
Unfortunately, I deal with stress by eating. A lot. That’s why I have been battling weight loss for years now. I deal with stress, frustrations, problems, worries and a whole slew of negative emotions by eating.
A few years ago, I had a bitch for a boss. I loved my job but my boss was really stressful. While I was with that company, I gained so much weight. In the end, after more than two years of fighting the inevitable, I realized that the cost of staying and being so stressed at the same time, far outweighs the benefits that I got from being employed there.
Imagine being stressed every day, even on my restdays. You can bet I ate a lot in those two years I’ve been there!

I understand how you feel, as this is usually the same with me. I turn for food for the most part out of anxiety and the comfort found in it, tends to push whatever is bothering me away, but of course that never seems to work. I tend to dwell myself either in comfort food or eating too much anyway. One way or another always get out of it, and after a while go into a set eating habit of eating ‘healthier’. I do have a battle with food. For the most part its an outward expression I have always found the easiest to dig into it. It’s been with me since teenage hood, a nasty habit. I don’t feel too good neither when I dwell into this habit, but I end up falling for it each time. Have you always had this affair with food too?

I too used to ‘stress-feed’. It seemed like the quickest way to get some relief. But I learned an even quicker form of relief – thought! As I’ve often shared with my clients, ‘Change is only a thought away’
